Animal Free Products
Welcome, shoppers! Thank you for being a caring consumer! By purchasing only cruelty-free products, you can help save rabbits, mice, guinea pigs, rats, and other animals.
Hundreds of thousands of these animals are poisoned, blinded, and killed every year in outdated and ineffective product tests for shampoos, household cleaners, cosmetics, hairsprays, and other personal care and household items. Although more than 500 companies have banned all animal tests forever, some corporations still force substances into animals' stomachs and drip chemicals into rabbits' eyes. These tests are not required by law, and they often produce inaccurate and misleading results—even if a product has blinded an animal, it can still be marketed to you.
Beauty products and foods that are made with organic ingredients are spared the application of toxic and persistent insecticides, herbicides, fungicides and fertilizers. Many Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approved pesticides were registered long before extensive research linked these chemicals to cancer and other diseases. In the long run, organic farming techniques provide a safer, more sustainable environment for everyone. The Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2002 published a study that found higher antioxidant benefits in organic fruit than non-organic fruit. These essential nutrients are vital for healthy, radiant skin.
This is a few reviews on popular mainstream lip balms. Once you have learned about chemicals in your daily cosmetics you will never go back to using them.
"Blistex" a very successful company with lip balm being use by children, adults and athelets is a highly toxic skin care product. This product's official name is Blistex Lip Revitalizer. The parent company Blistex Ltd. is a Canadian operation with worldwide distribution through supermarkets and drugstores. Not surprisingly Blistex Lip Revitalizer scores in 9 of 12 toxic parameters. Blistex lip balm contains two carcinogens - Saccharin and GLYCOLIC ACID with linkage to skin cancer. NOT the kind of product you want to be using on your lips.
"Chapstick" lip balm is a highly toxic skin care product. This product's official name is ChapStick Classic Lip Balm. The parent company Wyeth is a 61.3 billion dollar pharmaceutical corporation. The Chapstick lip balm is big on image but low on safety. Mega corporations like Wyeth need to be held to a higher standard. Wyeth spends millions in marketing but it seems nothing on research into natural alternatives.
Many of the ingredients never even tested for safety according to the C.I.R. - Cosmetic Ingredient Review. The chemicals that are certified by the C.I.R have been tested on animals. Not surprisingly ChapStick Classic Lip Balm scores in 8 of 12 toxic parameters.
The study of chemical ingredients in our daily products can be shocking. Here are a few reviews.
Danger: The alluminum in anti-perspirants could cause breast cancer which is not just a problem for Women anymore, Men are also being affected.
Aluminium - Aluminum has been linked to Alzheimer’s disease. Aluminum is a neuro toxin. That means it attacks the neurons in the brain. It doesn't have to kill them, just disrupt them in some way and you get mental problems. It is also a leading cause on contact dermatitis. Mainly found in antiperspirants and deodorants – where they are then applied to the armpits, when the skin is thin and sensitive, then absorbed straight into the blood stream.
If you'd like to avoid the accumulation of toxic chemicals in your body, or if you're allergic to conventional deodorant, it is to your benefit to try our chemical-free, non-staining, Natural Deodorant.
Beeswax candles offer a honey scent, a golden flame, and the longest, cleanest burn of any candle.
For each pound of beeswax provided by a honey bee, the bee visits 33 million flowers. It eats 10 pounds of honey. It secretes the beeswax from its abdomen, and then uses the wax to construct a honeycomb. Beekeepers recover the wax from the comb by heating it in water where the melted wax rises to the surface and can be removed.
Many have written about the wisdom of the beehive, and how burning beeswax puts a person in a special mood of reverence. It is easy to imagine why, given that millions of flowers have been visited and pollinated to make any one beeswax candle.
Healing and spiritual powers have been attributed to all products of the beehive. Honey has always been considered holy, a gift from God, and endowed with esoteric and mystical qualities.
Cleaning the Air by Burning Beeswax Candles Air contains billions of electrically charged particles called ions. Ions act upon our capacity to absorb and utilize oxygen, and therefore cause powerful effects on our lives and well being. The ions in the air can affect our mood, energy and health. Negative ions actually feel good. Too many positive ions make us feel bad and they are loaded down with pollution and allergens that are drawn to them and suspended in the air. Negative ions, on the other hand, remove the pollution and allergens from positive ions, allowing them to drop harmlessly to the ground.
Beeswax candle fuel is the only fuel that actually produces negative ions, which not only helps remove pollution from the air but increases the ratio of negative ions to positive ions, the ideal and necessary scenario for clean air.
Make sure to only buy 100 percent pure beeswax candles. Choose yellow beeswax (it is lightly refined)and not white beeswax is often bleached with chemicals and is best avoided.
The salt crystal lamps have a similar effect to the ionizer. However, the natural ionization of a crystal lamp cannot be compared to an ionizer. A salt crystal lamp can only have an ionization effect. However, salt crystal lamps have many advantages in many aspects and improve the general atmosphere of a room.
If the lamp is next to a television or computer monitor, its effect, through its electromagnetic field, of the device is in approximately the 100-160 Hz zone. Our brain waves however, produce only 8 Hz according to the Schuman resonance frequency. Therefore, the body is exposed to up to 20 times higher frequency patterns than it is generally used to. The consequences of this exposure results in nervousness, insomnia and lack of concentration or concentration weaknesses. In addition, there will be an accumulation of more free radicals in the body, known to be a cause of cancer.
The salt crystal lamp binds the negative ions with the excess positive ions. When the lamp becomes warm, it absorbs moisture and the crystal will be damp on the surface. This builds up the ion field. Through the lamp, the positively charged atmosphere of a room can be neutralized.
In addition to this, the colors of the salt crystal stones have a healing effect. The therapeutic value of the colored crystals can reorganize the epidermal layer of our skin. Tests made with kids having ADHD symptoms have shown that after only one week of exposure to crystal salt lamps, their symptoms subsided. After removing the lamps, the symptoms returned.
Keep all candles away from open windows, fans and vents. A draft or breeze can cause the candle to drip or smoke and burn unevenly. If the candle des start to drip, make sure there is no breeze on the candle and make sure the wick is centered in the candle. If the wick is not centered, extinguish the candle and gently push the wick towards the centre of the candle while it is still warm.
The best way to extinguishyour beeswax candle is by submerging the wick in its own liquid pool Use supplied stick. After extinguishing the flame make sure to stand the wick up straight again.
Always check the length of the wick before lighting a candle. Wicks should be kept trimmed to ¼ of an inch.
If you feel the candle is not burning properly pour some of the wax out, save the wax as you can add it back in later.
Candle scissors are a must for trimming hard to reach wicks. When a wick is too long it can cause the candle to smoke.
Always let the candle burn for at least 3 hour or until the wax has fully melted on top.
All candles will burn differently, if you trim the wick and burn accordingly you will have a wonderful candle for many hours.
All candles should have proper holders and be burned on a heat-proof surface.
Do not place lite candles where they can be knocked over by children, pets or anyone else.

Often, these irreplaceable keepsakes have been damaged, with creases, tears, scratches, torn corners, fading and the like. We can restore those images, then, masterfully reproduce them on canvas.
Digital Photography The resolution from most newer digital cameras works perfectly for our canvas product. If your camera is 3 mega pixel or higher and you've taken the photo at the highest setting you won't have a problem. If you're not sure about any of that, you can check the file size by right clicking on your image, then, click on properties, where the size will be displayed. Images that are 2 meg or higher are great. Images under 2 meg but higher than 0.7 meg are usually workable, so go ahead and upload those. JPEG or TIF files are both OK. We'll always call you if there is an issue. Back to top
How do I copy my image?
Scanning Tips You can use a flat bed scanner to scan your image at 300 dpi resolution. Save the file in RGB mode using JPEG format with the highest quality setting and lowest compression.
If you have an old photo and don't have a scanner, you can have your photo scanned into a 300 dpi JPEG digital file on a CD at selected Kinko's stores, which you can then upload to us from your PC.
What Makes a Great Photo? A great photo tells a story–a story about a person, a place, an event, a feeling. You don't have to be a professional photographer to capture the emotion of a moment; you just have to love what you see through the viewfinder. Of course, there are some technical qualities that make your memories easier to perfect in print.
Make sure that your photograph is in focus. Unless you are trying to record motion, it is best to have a clear, sharp picture. It will help others understand your story if they can see it as you did on the day you captured it.
Distance from the subject matters, too. You are putting a lot of thought into creating a keepsake that will be handed down from generation to generation, so try to choose a photograph that received just as much attention on the day it was taken. Look for shots that are close enough to capture the details: a mischievous smirk, a fresh look of surprise, a beautiful reflection in a pond. Details make pictures into photographs.
Lighting is also important in choosing the picture you want us to develop for you to display forever. We can work with the photograph to lighten or darken the appropriate regions, but it is best to start with one that is not over- or underexposed.
Digital pictures should have high resolutions. The higher the resolution, the crisper and more lifelike the finished art piece will be. Aim for a shot taken on a digital camera with 2 megapixels or more. To figure out the size and quality of your pic, right-click on it to list the Properties. Save it as a JPEG, TIF or RGB.
5 megapixel or higher images are the very best. These can be enlarged to 24" X 36" without visible loss of detail. Lower megapixel images cannot usually be enlarged as much, but are usually acceptable for sizes up to 16" X 20"
Traditional photos should be vivid as well. Select a photo that not only has the subject matter you want but also has good colors and is not fuzzy. We can help with the colours a little, but fuzzy cannot be corrected.
Can I get my art in black and white? Yes. We can turn your original photograph into a rich black-and-white print that is sure to impress even the most discerning art critic. To make sure that your cherished memory gets printed in sophisticated black and white, select "Black and White" on the order form.
What is sepia tone, and can you do it? Sepia tone is the use of shades of brown instead of black and white or full colour. It adds an elegant quality and can be used to make the print match just about any décor.

Can I hand embellish my canvas prints with Acrylic paint?
You can hand-embellish your canvas prints with acrylic paint and with oil paint but please note my comments below on hand-embellishg with oil paint.
As we heat seal our canvas prints by default, you need to request that your print is sent to you without the seal. If you are using acrylic paints you can go straight ahead and paint over your print. Acrylic contains the same polymer that is used to prime canvas materials.
Can I hand embellish my print with oil paint?
Yes you can do this but first you will need to prime your canvas or certainly the area to be embellished with a primer of some sort. As gesso and most primers remain white when applied the best option is to use a clear primer or pva glue. Once dry, you can apply your oil paint.
Please do not apply oil paint over the print without priming the canvas first as the acid in the oil can eat into the canvas material.
If I want to hand embellish my print do I need it heat sealed?
The print should not be heat sealed if you plan to hand paint all or parts of it. Heat sealing puts a layer over the canvas print which could cause the paint to peel.
Giclée (zhee-clay) n. 1. a type of digital fine-art print. 2. Most often associated with reproductions; a giclée is a multiple print or exact copy of an original work of art that was created by conventional means (painting, drawing, etc.) and then reproduced digitally, typically via inkjet printing. Prints are available on original artists materials such as coated watercolour papers and canvas. Fine Art reproduction and traditional photography has been revolutionised with the giclée printing process due to the exceptional results it produces. The brilliant colour, sharp definition, and tone give a visual quality, which is eye-catching and captures the characteristics of the original artwork. Back to top
